Our Student‑Led Injury Clinic at Birmingham Newman University offers accessible, evidence‑based injury assessment and rehabilitation, delivered by final‑year students and closely supervised by experienced lecturers and clinicians. This unique model combines high‑quality care with the latest clinical technologies, ensuring every client benefits from safe, professional, and up‑to‑date practice. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including functional movement screening and injury screening to identify the underlying causes of pain or dysfunction. Individualised exercise rehabilitation programmes are designed to support recovery, improve performance, and reduce the risk of re‑injury.

We offer hands‑on treatments such as soft tissue therapy and taping are integrated alongside advanced modalities including radial shockwave therapy, electrotherapy (ultrasound and interferential), and neuromuscular electrical stimulation to support pain management and tissue healing. Our clinic is also equipped with an anti‑gravity treadmill, enabling early‑stage rehabilitation and a graded return to walking or running with reduced joint loading, ideal for post‑injury and post‑surgical recovery.

Whether you are an athlete, student, or member of the wider community, the Birmingham Newman University Student‑Led Injury Clinic provides a supportive environment where high‑quality care meets educational excellence, helping clients recover with confidence while supporting the development of future sport and rehabilitation professionals.

Please note: the Student‑Led Injury Clinic is not a replacement for GP or hospital care. All clients undergo appropriate screening, and if a condition is identified that is outside the scope of safe treatment, or where medical investigation is required, clients will be advised to seek further assessment from their GP or an appropriate healthcare professional. Your safety and wellbeing are always our priority.

Booking and Scheduling

·       Once payment is confirmed, patients will be emailed with appointment options from the ST-Clinic@newman.ac.uk email.   NB:  Please can all Newman staff and students use their newman.ac.uk email address when booking.

Cancelation and Late Policy

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance otherwise the session will be charged in full.
  • We allow a 10-minute late arrival policy. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we will not be able to accommodate you, and you will be charged in full.
